Nismo Watch Concept: A Nissan GT-R for Your Wrist [Video]

Watches and cars go very well together.  So well, in fact, that I started a watch and car blog.  There have been a lot of watch and car combos over the years.  TAG Heuer and Mercedes.  Hublot and Ferrari.  Hublot and Senna.  Girard-Perregaux and Ferrari.  Oris and RAID Suisse-Paris Rally.  Breitling and Bentley.   The list goes on and on, but, they all have one thing in common.  They are watches with car themes.  Apart from a few...

Audi A3 and S3 Cabriolet: 2 Less Doors and One Less Roof on the Baby Audi [Video]

I really liked the Audi A3 and S3 Sedans when they debuted last March.  They have a good engine line-up.  They’re better looking than the BMW 1 Series.  And, they should have a pretty good rivalry with the Mercedes-Benz CLA.  But now that Audi has unveiled the drop-top version of their little car, the Audi A3 Cabriolet, I’m just sort of “meh.” Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it’s a great car. ...

Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo "iBusiness": A Rolling Office That Will Roll at 217 MPH

I find it poetic that I should be writing about the behemouth known as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class-based Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo “iBusiness” today.  And, I’ll tell you why.  As I was driving down I-95 today up near Palm Beach, I passed what may be the most ridiculous car a tuning company as every put forth, a 120 horse Brabus Ultimate 120 Smart Car.  While 120 horse out of a Smart ForTwo is impressive, I am much more...

Mercedes-Benz Concept S-Class Coupe: Half the Doors, Twice the Swagger [Video]

Back in July, I introduced you to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.  It’s good.  Very, very good.  But, it seems as though Mercedes and one-upped itself with the new Mercedes-Benz Concept S-Class Coupe, a two-door version of the mega-Merc. Take away a few of the concept-y touches (tiny wing mirrors, bits of the super-organic white interior) from the Concept S-Class Coupe and you probably have a good idea of what the replacement...

Fiat 500 Cattiva and Fiat 500c GQ Edition: Two Designer Cars for Less Than the Price of an Hermes Birkin

The Fiat 500 has to be the closest thing to a designer handbag that a car can possible be.  It’s as much an accessory as it is a car.  Unsurprisingly, Fiat is no dummy when it comes to their cars.  They know the personality and soul of the Fiat 500.  And, they’re very good at capitalizing on its fashionable nature.  Take for instance the Fiat 500 Gucci edition as one example.  Or, the nearly perfect Fiat 500 Abarth...

McLaren 12C GT Sprint, Sin R1 and Bluebird DC50: Three New Cars I Really Want but Will Never Have [Video]

My last two posts have been on the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC and the MINI Getaway Cars, cars that share a common theme… I will probably never have them.  To continue that theme and to twist the knife a bit deeper into my gut, I present to you three more cars into whose drivers’ seats my rump will never settle: the track-star McLaren 12C GT Sprint, the enigmatic and blazingly fast Sin R1 supercar and the...

Innotech Aspiron: Trackday Car with the Heart of a Corvette

The name Innotech may ring a bell.  No, it’s not the company from Office Space, that’s Initech and Initrode (damn Initrode).  It’s a Corvette tuning house that also happens to make supercars with Corvette hearts like the 800 horse 2010 Innotech Escalero.  Their latest project, the 2014 Innotech Aspiron is one part Corvette and one part Tramontana-style trackday chassis.  Innotech takes pretty much whatever Corvette...

Volvo Using Australia as a Test for More Polestar Models?

Australia seems to be the place to go if you want some serious cars.  They already have the Holden Special Vehicles Gen-F and the 250 horse Volvo S60 T5.  But now, according to Autoblog.com and Drive.com.au, Volvo Australia chief Matt Braid and Polestar Managing Director Hans Baath are using Oz as a test market for the high-performance S60 Polestar and (potentially) other future Polestar models.  We got a close look at the S60...

2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class L: China Gets a Stretched E-Class.

Long-wheelbase sedans are all the rage in China.  A while back, to capitalize on the trend, Audi introduced the A6 L, BMW did the same with a stretched 5 Series.  Now, Mercedes-Benz is hoping to take a chunk of the Chinese stretched, mid-level, luxury sedan market with the 2014 E-Class L unveiled in Shanghai at Auto China 2013. The E-Class L is five-and-a-half inches longer than the standard 2014 E-Class, all in the rear seats.  This...

Mercedes-Benz Leaks Photos of the GLA Concept Before Its Debut in Shanghai

The forthcoming Mercedez-Benz GLA Concept will debut in a few days at the Shanghai Motor Show.  But, MB leaked a few images of their new crossover.  We do know that the GLA-Class will be based on the A-Class.  So, it should probaly come with a 2.0 liter turbo I4 and perhaps a diesel.  Mercedes’ seven-speed DCT is the most likely trans.  A GLA45 AMG should follow shortly after the GLA.  Other than that, we’ll have to wait...
