Lamborghini Head Stephan Winkelmann, Monterey Classic Car Week & an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann Announcing Grande Giro

It’s been a busy week for Automobili Lamborghini President & CEO Stephan Winkelmann.  First, at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in Monterey, California, he announces Lamborghini’s plans for their 50th Anniversary in 2013, which includes the Grande Giro Lamborghini 50º Anniversario, a 1200 km Lambo rally from Milan to the factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese.  He also goes and gets inducted into the Concorso Italiano Hall of Fame and is presented with “La Bella Macchina” award in honor of his work turning around Lamborghini since he became President and CEO in 2005.  Then, yesterday, he inaugurated a new building for Newport Beach Lamborghini, the top U.S. Lambo dealership.

In the middle of all this, at a private customer event during Monterey Classic Car Week, Winkelmann accepts the award from the Robb Report naming the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 as “Best of the Best Sports Car” for 2012.  Definitely well deserved.  The Aventador is by far the best super sports car this year.  Sorry McLaren, Porsche and Nissan.  (By the way, Robb Report also named the Aventador as the “2012 Car of the Year” last February.)  So yeah, one could say Stephan Winkelmann has had a busy trip to the U.S.

But, don’t worry, he’s done it all with style.  If you haven’t noticed, in the photo above of him accepting the Robb Report trophy, Winkelmann is wearing an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore (Ref: 26170ST.OO.1000ST.01).  Yep, he’s rocking an AP ROO “Panda“.  The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 and a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore make a pretty cool match, don’t you think?
