Ford EVOS Concept Is Confirmed for Salon Prive 2013
The Salon Privé 2013 is coming up pretty soon. The latest, greatest, rarest and coolest cars on Earth converge on Syon Park in London from the 4th to the 6th of September. The latest car to confirm its presence at the Salon Privé is the Ford EVOS Concept car.
The Ford EVOS is a four-door, four-seater fastback whose awesome front and rear gullwing doors will never, ever make it to production. Seriously, just look at those doors. They hinge up from the A-Pillars for the front and the C-Pillars for the back. The whole car looks like some sort of really cool beetle. But, they’ll never seen a dealership floor. Carmakers are just rude.
Anyway, it’s also a lithium-ion-powered plug-in hybrid. Like most other concept cars, Ford’s goal with the EVOS is to expound further on their design language and show off future technologies and powertrain options.
The Ford EVOS is just one more reason to make the trek to London for the Salon Privé (not that you need any more incentive). I’m still figuring out how to get there myself. Since Audemars Piguet sponsoring the British Super Car Show this year, maybe Francois Bennahmias will fly me out…
Syon Park, London, 22 July 2013 – Salon Privé welcomes the acclaimed Ford Evos Concept car which will feature as part of the new Concepts & Prototypes Display on the lawns of Syon House this September.
The Ford Evos Concept showcases Ford’s global design language and a new vision for customer-focused intuitive technologies. It’s a four-door, four-seat fastback concept with state-of-the-art lithium-ion plug-in hybrid technology. The concept also features hinged gullwing-style doors, both front and rear, providing access to the spacious four-seat cabin.
The concept explores key future powertrain and vehicle technologies and focuses on Ford’s global product strategy: outstanding design, smart technologies and fuel economy leadership. Future Ford products will all feature many of the distinctive design ideas and advanced technologies seen in the Ford Evos Concept, many of which are currently under development in the Ford Research and Innovation laboratories.
Technology is a key feature of the Ford Evos Concept and continues within the concepts interior which features a ‘personal cloud’ offering seamless connectivity between car and driver.
Sales Director, David Bagley commented: “We are delighted to welcome Ford to Salon Privé for the first time with its innovative EVOS concept which will feature within the brand new Concepts and Prototypes Display.”
