Ducati and Audi Take on Pikes Peak

Ducati Multistrada 1200 S and Audi RS 5

For those of you who don’t know, Ducati is now part of the Volkswagen Group.  The legen…wait for it…dary Italian motorcycle brand shares the same branch of the VW family tree with their even more iconic Italian neighbors, Lamborghini as they both fall under the auspices of Audi.  Actually Ducati’s and Lamborghini’s world headquarters are just about 20 minutes down the road from each other in Italy, so that pairing makes a lot of sense, apart from both being pinnacles of high performance modes of transportation.

Anyway, the new pairing of Audi and Ducati happens to fall in the same year as the 90th annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.  Both Audi and Ducati share a long history of competing in the race up Pikes Peak.  So, in honor of Ducati joining VW and of the 90th Pike Peak climb, Audi and Ducati are holding a Twitter contest to drive the new Audi RS 5 and ride the Ducati Multistrada 1200 S.  That would be a fun day of driving.
Also, through the #ComeTogether contest, Audi and Ducati are trying to raise awareness for Battle of the Blaze, as well as making a donation.  Battle of the Blaze provides relief to those affected by the wildfires that devastated the areas around Pikes Peak this year.  I don’t normally plug contests and such on this site, but this Battle of the Blaze is definitely a good cause.  Check out www.togetherwetakethehill.com for more info.
If giving a chance to ride a Ducati Multistrada 1200 S and drive a new Audi RS 5 side-by-side and working to further the efforts of a great cause are examples of what we can expect to see from Ducati joining the Volkswagen Group, I’m seriously looking forward to what’s to come.
