Birkin Bentley "Blower" Sells for a Record £4.5 Million

Tim Birkin’s Record Setting 1929 “Blower” Bentley

Yesterday at the Bonhams Goodwood auction, which takes place during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Tim Birkin’s 4½ liter supercharged 1929 “Blower” Bentley single seater racer sold for a record £4.5 million or about $8 million at today’s exchange rate.  

Ex-fighter pilot Tim Birkin piloted this 240 bhp “Blower” Bentley to a record 137.96 mph in March 1932 at the iconic Brooklands Race Circuit, 35 miles from the location of its most recent record as the valuable Bentley ever sold.  For more info, visit Bonhams.
