2014 Gumball 3000: Miami 2 Ibiza Albums from the starting grid on Ocean Drive in South Beach, Miami.
Gumball founder Maximillion Cooper; rappers Eve, Xzibit and Bun B; musician deadmau5; Mythbuster Tory Belleci; Welsh performer Matthew Pritchard and more line up their supercars (like Team Galag’s McLaren P1 and Shelby Cobra Daytona or MOMO’s Ferrari F40) on Ocean Drive in South Beach for the start of the 2014 Gumball 3000 rally.
For those of you who don’t know, the Gumball 3000 is an annual 3,000 mile rally between cosmopolitan waypoints. Each year brings a new route. And, each stop on the trip is filled with insane parties and utter madness.
This year’s Gumball 3000 schedule:
- Wednesday June 4th – Arrivals in Miami
- Thursday June 5th – Miami to Atlanta
- Friday June 6th – Atlanta to New York
- Saturday June 7th – New York to Edinburgh
- Sunday June 8th – Edinburgh to London
- Monday June 9th – London to Paris
- Tuesday June 10th – Paris to Barcelona
- Wednesday June 11th – Barcelona to Ibiza
Every year, the Gumball draws musicians, actors, celebrities, rappers, socialites, business moguls and sheiks. Basically, to run the Gumball you need money… entry to this year’s Gumball 3000 costs £40,000 or about $67,000. But, that’s not too bad since the $67k covers entry, hotel stays at W Hotels, air cargo transport for the cars from New York to Scotland and private jet transport for the drivers.
The real draw for spectators to the 2014 Gumball 3000 isn’t Team Purrari’s deadmau5 and Tory Belleci, or Bun B, Xzibit and Eve… It’s the cars. Oh, the cars. They are amazing. Other than the bajillion regular Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Rolls Royce or Mercedes-Benz, some truly spectacular cars line up on the grid.
Highlights from the 2014 Gumball 3000 cars include Team Galag’s glorious McLaren P1, Weismann and Shelby Daytona Coupe; MOMO’s unbelievable Ferrari F40; a Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG; Team Masters of Speed’s BRABUS Super G 700 6X6; a 700 horse Lexus IS and a stunning 1963 Jaguar Mk3. Although Max Cooper’s Fiat 500 Abarth was pretty awesome in its own right.
The culmination of the 2014 Gumball 3000 rally ends with the wedding of Max Cooper and Eve in Ibiza, Spain. Apart from driving hot laps around the Daytona Motor Speedway, between the start and finish, your guess is as good as mine as to what craziness will ensue between now and then.
Check out the photos below from the starting grid on South Beach. Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens, Mercedes, Rolls Royce, Bentleys, Aston Martins, Bugatti Veyrons, Shelbys, Weismanns and oh so much more are featured in the albums below. Enjoy.
