10 Weirdest Production Cars, Ever

I got to thinking about the 10 weirdest production cars. I spend a lot of time talking about the most beautiful, powerful and incredible examples of automotive design and engineering on this site. From limited edition Bugatti Veyrons to classic Jaguar XKEs to the latest offering from Mercedes-AMG, there are cars that boggle the mind in terms of their sheer brilliance.

But, then there’s the other side of the coin… cars that boggle the mind in terms of their sheer insanity.  These are the cars that really push the boundaries of the automotive industry. Think about it, would there be a Smart Fortwo if there wasn’t first a BMW Isetta or Messerschmitt KR175? Or, where would the Mazda MX-5 Miata be without the Mazda R360.

So, this post is dedicated all of those cars that were created from a spark of insanity as opposed to a spark of genius, but may have inspired the car designers who came after them to build something truly amazing. These is my list of the top 10 weirdest production cars, ever.

  1. Some nice looking little vehicles there. I like the Daihatsu Midget but I’m not sure how much you’d fit in the back!

  2. Liked the Mazda R360 and the Daihatsu Midget. The Peel 50 could be very useful in the horrible traffic jams of my country.
